- Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:
I am interested in studying about the governmental policies and decisions in regards to balancing economic growth with environmental protection because I am interested in Macroeconomics and how it deals with recent environmental problems. I became fascinated with environmental protection in AP Environmental Science and my personal love for the outdoors, and what the have to offer to society.
- The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project:
How should government balance environmental protection with economic growth?
- Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question:
- What regulations does the EPA impose
- What regulations does our government impose and how do they compare of the environmental protection regulations of other countries around the world
- How does government continue to support traditional industries while faced with the need address new forms of renewable energy
- What is the government's current use of subsidies and what is its plan for the future
- How does the political climate affect environmental policies
- My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above):
- Data bases such as Porquest, US History in Context
- The two party System and their members/ policies
- News websites such as CNN
- The EPA official website
