- Briefly explain why you are interested in studying your topic:
- I plan to become a stockbroker in the future. Since I will be working with the stock market everyday and the people who invest, I want to learn about investors motives and thought behind investing. I think to do your job well you have to understand all aspects of your job. By understanding consumers thought behind investing it will take a lot of time and research but it will definitely make me do my job better in the future.
- The overall question I plan on answering by the end of the project:
- How can investing lead to financial success?
- Sub questions I will need to answer in order to answer the overall question:
- Are poor people, rich people, or average people investing?- What kind of people are investing?
- How much does the average investor invest?
- What is the initial motive to invest?
- Are they trying to strike it rich?
- Are they trying to just have extra spending money?
- Are they trying to pick themselves up out of a hole?
- What are investors using their profits for?
- My plan of research (what specific Library Databases, specific websites, names of authors, people, etc. will I pursue to find the answers to the questions above):
- I plan to read articles from online newspapers like the New York Times
- I also plan to use all library databases, Global Issues in Context should be helpful
- Read first hand accounts of people who do/have invest(ed)
- I may even ask my parents.
